Chelsea vs Leicester
The current champions Chelsea will face an acid test at home in the form of former champions Leicester. Once Morata wears his shooting boots, or put away his headers, Chelsea should prevail.
Crystal Palace vs Burnley
Burnley’s good road form will be tested against a resurgent Crystal Palace. Both teams will be seeking to recover from their respective FA Cup exit last week. Expect a draw here.
Huddersfield vs West Ham
David Moyes and West Ham are seeking to do a yard for squad balance, but in the meantime, they will have to face Huddersfield away. The Hammers are in good form and Huddersfield is strong at home, and should be more confident having acquired new signing and former Tottenham player, Alex Pritchard. A draw seems to be on the cards.
Newcastle vs Swansea City
Newcastle will be happy to face Swansea at home as they seek to climb further away from the drop zone. Even though they got a win recently in the league, the Swans with a new manager in Carlos Carvalhal, will start as underdogs.
Watford vs Southampton
Watford has slid into mid-table after a good start to the season. They will seek to rediscover some consistency as they face Southampton at home. A win will pour more pressure on Mauricio Pellegrino and likely cause the Saint to go marching into the drop zone.
West Brom vs Brighton
An inconsistent West Brom will face a resilient Brighton at home. A boring draw may likely be the end result.
Tottenham vs Everton
Big Sam will bring his men to London to face an in-form Spurs team at Wembley. Everton will seek to avenge their 3-0 loss at home to Spurs in September. With the mid-season window now open and Big Sam wanting to do business, a few Everton players may be playing for their places. A better Spurs team should take the spoils though.
Bournemouth vs Arsenal
Arsenal this season has been their usual inconsistent selves in all competitions. Having being embarrassed last weekend in the FA Cup to Nottingham Forest, they then earned a credible first-leg draw at Stamford Bridge to continue that trend. They will now seek a league win away to Bournemouth that they should pull off, even with the possibility of being without a recently-injured Jack Wilshere who was their form player in midfield.
Liverpool vs Manchester City
The Scousers should be gunning for this fixture, especially to avenge their 5-0 loss at the Etihad earlier this season. They would also be very confident of victory, given that their front line is firing and they have a new toy in record signing (for a defender), Virgil van Dijk in defense. City has teased a loss on a couple of occasions and have managed to come back and win games. They may face a different proposition this time if they go behind to this Liverpool side once they keep eleven men on the field.
Manchester United vs Stoke City
Stoke, having finally sacked Mark Hughes, will face an acid test away to Manchester United. They are likely to remain in the relegation zone after this fixture, as a loss is the expected result.
