To be able to feature highly on our lists requires more than being good in one category and lacking in other areas as we take the totality of what a footballer in that position is really there to do.

The Spaniard had a decent first season in Wales, but the Swansea City man has largely been unspectacular across the board aside from his shots to goal ratio (4.88).

Bournemouth will be hoping England’s Renaissance Man can replicate the goal scoring form he recaptured at Sunderland as he’s set to turn 35 years old in October.

After a rough go of it in Germany and Spain, the Lazio man posted a career-best goal return of 23 strikes in Serie A and could find his way into the top 40 with another solid campaign in the capital.

Much promising for club and country, RB Leipzig’s Werner is only 21, with his trajectory sure to continue moving upwards after a career season in 2016/17.
