1. Lukaku to Chelsea
Stefan: Still puzzling seen as the “next Drogba” despite sharing little to nothing in common with the Chelsea legend, Romelu Lukaku has confirmed he has no intention of extending his contract at Everton so this summer looks to be their best chance of extracting a big fee for him. With Costa agitating for a move away Lukaku may find his biggest obstacle to success the last time he was in London to no longer be a deal breaker. Conte’s style of football will suit him, he has proven himself in the EPL and now its time to return to the only blight on his young career to date. I’d put a small bet on Lukaku donning a different shade of blue come August.
2. Veratti to Barcelona
Stefan: Can you imagine we now live in a world where Real Madrid, and not Barcelona, are the Spanish giants with a selection of technical midfielders the world should envy? Veratti to Barcelona would go a long way to correcting that imbalance. This is a move that makes so much sense when you consider Iniesta is almost out the door, Rakitic has regressed, Turan is useless in midfield and that Barcelona seem to have decided La Masia graduates like Samper shouldn’t be trusted.
However, the fact this move makes nothing but sense is exactly why it won’t happen. The Barcelona boards remit seems to be let’s piss our fans off so expect another runner to join before a genius like Veratti does.
