Crystal Palace vs West Brom
Alan Pardew’s team are progressing well look like top 10 material even this early in the season. West Brom threw away a two goal lead against Everton on Monday and lost 2-3 at home. Palace looks like a solid bet at home.
Aston Villa vs Stoke
Both teams are in the bottom half of the table and are struggling, with Villa at 18th and Stoke 17th. Stoke are coming off a home victory against Bournemouth and are looking to continue on that road.
Bournemouth vs Watford
Two promoted teams from the championship square off against each other in what should be an open encounter. Bournemouth at home looks decent and should be able to win.
Manchester City vs Newcastle United
Steven McClaren must be scratching his head and wondering what is going on! After squandering a 2 goal lead against defending champions Chelsea at home and ending up only with a point, Newcastle comes up against the blues of Manchester at the Etihad. Manchester City are coming off a great mid week win in the champion’s league and with Kun Aguero netting a last minute penalty for the victory, City will be buzzing for the their encounter against Newcastle.
Norwich City vs Leicester City
Norwich have made a decent start to life in the Premier League and take on Leicester who was beaten by Arsenal at home in their last game. With both teams finding the net a lot in the league, I see goals in this one.
Sunderland vs West Ham United
Bottom of the table and winless Sunderland takes on the Hammers who have an impressive away league record in the league. With Sunderland struggling and West Ham looking solid on the road and in 3rd place in the league my money is on the Hammers to get a result here.
Chelsea vs Southampton
Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea… It’s rare we see The Special One get it wrong and he seems to be getting a lot wrong since the start of the season. According to the papers the players are unhappy with Mourinho. This won’t be helped by the fans singing for their captain John Terry to return to the starting line up. Will Mourinho listen? Southampton are coming off an impressive win at home against Swansea and should be more rested. This is a tricky game but I’ll give The Special One this!
Everton vs Liverpool
The Merseyside derby! One of Premier League’s fiercest rivalries will be renewed in what should be great game. With Brendan Rodgers under a lot of pressure and with Everton looking impressive in 5th position, Everton are the favorites heading into this game. That said, the last 3 derby’s have all ended in draws and I don’t see that trend changing.
Arsenal vs Manchester United
The game of the weekend! With Arsenal coming off a disappointing loss to Olympiacos in the Champions League, the pressure is mounting on Wenger to get a result against top of the table Manchester United. LVG looks like he’s finally getting it right and I believe he’s capable of getting that victory to keep the Red Devils on top.
Swansea vs Tottenham
The Swans are on a bad run of form with no league wins in their last 3 games. Tottenham on the other hand seems to be turning the screw and looking like a top 6 team. I fancy Spurs in this one but I do expect goals.
